Here at JT Towers, as normal, we are busy working on several projects that will be unleashed onto the unsuspecting RailWorks/Sim world in the upcoming time. (Note, no time commitment there!
One of them is taking longer than anticipated (as does all software development!) but we thought we had this one cracked as we had a set of drawings for it, so our builder merrily created his masterpiece to the drawings in double quick time - Excellent! we thought until we started looking at the model and comparing it with pictures of the real thing - there was something not right with the mounts that attach the underframe/chassis to the bogies.
On the drawing they were all the same design. On the pictures of the real thing some were the same as each other but others were not - Hmm. So more research and via a process of deduction we decided that the drawings were wrong and to trust the pictures so now the model is being rebuilt to match the real world and not the drawings.. Getting hold of drawings can be very difficult so in this case we thought we were home free - but not quite!
What are we building? Ah Ha! That would be telling and if I did no doubt some expert on this particular item would come forward the day after release and say they were all wrong so I am not going to say! Rotten aren’t I? But I bet you will be taking a close look at all the axle mounts on all our products going forward to see if you can see any problems!
’till the next time,
Stay safe
