New route looks mighty Tyne

After months of exacting work and tireless attention to detail by skilled route builder Darren Porter, we’re delighted to be able to announce Newcastle to York Modern for RailWorks and Rail Simulator.

Newcastle to York Modern

Newcastle to York Modern

Newcastle to York Modern epitomises everything about a modern UK high speed rail line, with a varied traffic of passenger and freight workings heading up and down the eastern edge of the country, and is perfectly suited for running stock such as our Voyager, Class 60, YGB SeacowJJA Autoballaster and Cargowaggons.

The entire route - more than 80 miles - has been reworked and adjusted, with track relayed to allow for new alignment and junctions, re-signalling, and AC overhead electrication.

Freight yards have been paired down to show their modern day versions - a shadow of their former past of the 1970’s - whilst stations have received updated platform designations, including extra platforms at Newcastle and the new postal service terminal at Low Fell.

It doesn’t end there though, as a selection of completely new objects have been developed for the route to bring the experience bang up to date - keep an eye on this blog and the In Development page on the Just Trains website in the coming weeks as we reveal more of this fantastic new add-on!

Have been keenly following this project from day 1. Looks brilliant and can’t wait to finally get to try it out; just need some kind of electric traction to use it! (Hint, hint ;-) )

Looking forward to when the Fog on the tyne is all mine!

Looking forward to it.Railworks certainly needs a new ‘Modern British Route’ to add to the content
