In a Class of its own

It has been a few months since our last blog update, and we’re sorry about that - as the saying goes “time flies when you’re having fun“, or more accurately when you’re very busy working on lots of things all at the same time!

Class 60

One of our latest releases, which has captured the imagination of Rail Simulator and RailWorks users, is our fantastic Class 60 diesel locomotive add-on, which has gained some astounding praise from customers who rushed out to buy it the moment we set the Download live on the Just Trains website.

The 60 received praise for the sounds (recorded from a real Class 60!), the quality of modelling and detailing, and as one customer summed up: “An awesome loco, by far the best we have had so far!” - makes us feel proud to receive such comments!

If you’ve recently made the move to RailWorks then you may have missed our Compatibility information page, which details updated installers that we’ve made available for a number of our Rail Simulator products including the Voyager, Cargowaggon Flat IGA, Cargowaggon IWB, and YGB Seacow. We’re working on more to cover other releases such as the official expansion packs and hope to have more news in the near future.

So what’s next?

Well, the JJA Autoballasters are nearing completion, with just the testing of scenarios remaining, so they should be appearing shortly - beyond that we’ve got some exciting new releases that we’ve been keeping quiet about until they’re a little nearer, but it’s safe to say we’ll be working full tilt over the next couple of months, producing content that without doubt will be an essential part of your collection.

Autoballaster

Is there something you’d like to see added to Rail Simulator or RailWorks? A wagon, loco, route, or maybe something else? Let us know in the response box below…

Hi guys. I’d like to see a china clay hood wagon in the game at some point, and also a western class 52 for the western region routes.

Firstly as a website owner i would like to say Thank you for all your hard work………. your the best.
Secondly i am a fan of Railsimulator - its a shame its not supported anymore - i`m sure not everyone has the money to pay out for Railworks….thanks again for making the class60 work in both.

We as a Team on our website are always trying to bring the best to everyone - for Free - it would be nice if you could make a few wagons for Free - like say the old bogie bolster. We look forward to new things from you and we will continue to support and advertise your wonderful trains on our site- please feel free to visit our site and ask our members what they would like - i`m sure the list is long -
thank you once again - we wait - excited - for more

Regards JWR

firstly, thanks for the excellent add-ons :D

i would love to see a class 33 in game, and also a route based on the east midlans? maybe Derby to sheffield, or Derby to Leicster/Nottingham. Maybe a bit out of the box thinking, but what about road/rail machines, like the excavators? i think a good idea for a wagon would be a POA scrap wagon :P

Hey Guys.

I really like Voyager and the Class 60 is just brilliant, but I would like to see a Class 67. This would match well with the RSDL Class 66 and Your Class 60!

Also, maybe an extention of the ECML to Berwick or Edinburgh but in the present day electrified state. That would be cool!

Cheers and Well Done

Richard

Hi

I’m building a route based on the Midland Mainline and like a ‘Peak’ Class 45 and also Class 20 - very common sites on this route in the 80’s.

Also, the red/grey Railfreight closed van, seen here

Chris

Hi,
Quite a few (including myself) would still like the Bristol-Exeter route to be released in the not-to-distant future, and as far as locos are concerned, the one that I would love to see is the Class 67 locomotive. Also, a nice addition would be a 1st generation DMU.

Great work so far.

I would like to see some first generation DMU’s and some parcel vans GUV and CCT’s. Or maybe some building packs.

Morning guys

Just wanted to say that I love your work. Your class 60 is amazing. I have bought all your downloads for RS and now RW.

I have been checking daily for the JJA Autoballaster pack which again looks great.

Keep up the good work and look forward to your other projects.

Regards
Graham

Great stuff so far, the Class 60 is fantastic. Rumour has it that you have a Class 67 in the offing and I’m very much looking forward to that if so.

I’ll second Paul above with the request for a china clay hood & Class 52, although I’d also like to see china clay CDA & PBA Tiger hoppers and loco wise a Class 117 / 121 DMU and a Class 45.

What also might be a nice idea is a parcels van pack as apart from the BG these are totally lacking in the game so far, with perhaps 4 wheel and bogey SR utility vans, a GW Siphon G and then BR CCT & BR/LMS GUV?

Hi,im a recent convert from MSTS., and would like to know if you can make RW., compatible with raildriver .Enjoying what youve done so far .

Hi, i would like to see some MDA/MEA/MFA/MHA open wagons, BYA covered steel coil carriers and also some TEA fuel tankers. I do like the stock that is available. Just waiting to download the JJA Autoballasters.

Can you confirm that the JJA Autoballaster is being released this week as it says on the website??

Or maybe 3D UK track, the default track doesn’t look good at all.

The 60 looks great and I will be buying this very soon.

The class I would like to see most is class 31. This would suit the 2 default UK routes (diesel era) as well as the Exeter to Bristol route when that is released.

Hi,

Brilliant work on the 60! The sounds are amazing. I enjoy the 60 and the Voyager very much, great add-ons.

I personally would like to see a class 67, it has already been mentioned that it would go great with the class 66 and 60! Keep up the good work, and looking forward to future releases!

Regards, Jon

Hi,
Really love the class 60, brilliant work guys.
yeh the class 67 would be fantastic and also perhaps something like the Heathrow express class 332 as most of the route is on the Oxford to Paddington route.

keep up the the good work!

regards
Freddie

Hi, A few things I would like to see :- Another add-on pack with say the class 60 & 1 or 2 of the wagons packs produced on DVD to compliment the original IOW/Class 66 & class 08/USA route DVD’s.

On the rolling stock side I would like a SR 4CIG/BIG, however if you were looking for something modern the a class 67 would fit in or even a class 91/Mk4 set to go with forthcoming modern York to Newcastle.

For wagons it would have to be the VDA wagons - plenty of livery variation there.

Somebody above has already mentioned track textures - the default ones are awful, or how about a mini-pack featuring some of the new LED style signals.

Regards
Steve

Hi Guys

Just a quick critism regarding the recent add-ons being download only.Myself, and I’m sure others have there internet connections on other PC’S,Not on there gaming machines,so would appreciate more add-ons on DVD,hopefully that includes Bristol-Exeter when it is released, otherwise Rail simulator/Railworks is great.Keep up the good work

Hey, as two other people replied, i would love to see a classic class 52 western!! Fab work on all of your add-ons which am currently saving enough money to buy!! Keep the progress going!

hello justtrains,
i would like to tell you about my story last saturday. i went to london waterloo with the southwest trains service. i left my staion which was Yeovil junction, this was the nearest swt station as i happen to live in yeovil. whilst on the train i looked out the window thinking in my head “another 135 miles till waterloo staion”. meanwhile as passing all the staions i was wondering. COULD THE JUSTTRAINS MAKE THE SOUTHWEST MAINLINE ROUTE. i thought in my head wow what a brilliant idea that would be amazing, seen as i am near waterloo and i have seen nearly 20-25 swt class 450 could they make that model to go with the route aswell??. this popped up in my head as i was thinking about the blog you had and thought this letter would be reasonable. arriving at waterloo and looking around the station, i recon justtrains can pull something out of the hat and create this mainline and train. is it possible??? woulod be greatfully, trully most appreciated and willing to pay a reasonable amout of money.

many thanks justtrains Jordan C

lol.

full tilt!

can’t wait for that voyager!

I can’t wait for the release of the Bristol to Exeter route.
I would very much like to see this add on and an add on that actually connects from Didcot Parkway to Bristol, so that the Bristol to Exeter can continue direct from London Paddington.
Furthermore, I would love to see an add on available from Exeter to Plymouth. So that in the end we have an almighty BR route straight down to Plymouth from London Paddington. Maybe later on, another add on that will connect the main line right through Cornwall until it ends at Penzance!
I have been waiting for years and years for London to Penzance.

Hi guys,
as many other people have pointed out, I would love to see the Bristol - Exeter route! It looks amazing! Also, what about doing (and improving upon!) the Cross City line from Redditch - Lichfield Trent Valley? Or the WCML from Rugby - Stafford, INCLUDING the Birmingham loop? :) Locos themselves, I would LOVE to see the Class 89 run on the route it was intended to serve (ECML) and the Class 323 :)

oh and PS: what about the Clas 91, DVT and Mk4 Coaches as well? :D
