Wednesday waffling!
It’s Wednesday and it’s time for me to waffle! Here in the UK we have had 4 days of sunshine, its rare so we are making the most of them, and even better the bloke who controls the weather got it wrong as two of the days were the weekend!
So what’s been happening? Well being the fool I am over the sunny weekend I was doing some work to try and catch up on things – its good because those from Just Flight who are not fools are not working and are out enjoying the sun, so I don’t get disturbed and can get more work done! But I was not working every waking hour so what else happened? Well my family and I are attending a wedding this coming weekend and surprisingly my wife had “nothing to wear”. Quite amazing really as her wardrobe is bulging, anyway we had to go to Milton Keynes (a big shopping centre here in the UK) and we spent around 5 hours wandering around clothes shops and guess what? She could not find anything! Amazing! Total waste of time apart from me looking in the Apple shop at an Mac book Air laptop (really thin but WAY, way too expensive) and having a doughnut from Crispy Kreamy Crumpets or whatever they are called.. so on the Sunday we had to go to a local set of shops and guess what she found a dress and even better the outlaws who were down for the day even brought it! Result! So, anyway that’s the mundane excitement of my life relayed to you all and now I guess you want to hear about what’s been going in dev wise this week at JF towers…. Well nothing really – we have all been out on the veranda sunning ourselves so no work has been done. Ok well that’s not the truth and I humbly apologise for being less than honest but I am in a mischievous mood and all excited (how sad am I?) by the progress on the up-coming products, so seeing as Euro 2008 (a football competition for my non-European readers - England are not in it BTW…) is taking place currently let’s “kick off”…
Mosquito – well the production side is going well with the manual coming together and me furiously taking more pictures – you can find these all new shots on the Mosquito In development page on our main site here – this week I have chosen to feature the weapons that will be available ranging from the machine guns in the nose to the TseTse canon machine through to the ‘bouncing bomb’ and cookie ‘bomb’ types. All quite a testament to how versatile the Mosquito was.

Talking of famous WW2 twin engine fighter bombers I have also just taken a pile of pictures of the P-38 Lightning. The more I look at this machine the more I am impressed and the VC and textures are superb. I have posted some of the pictures on our public forum for you all to see, also standby for some news on the P38 which we hope to reveal soon.

Moving forward in time and without the use of a Tardis we come to the 747-200/300. This is really shaping up to be a superb product. I have put some new pictures on the 747 In-development page. It will be really great to have a less complex 747 to fly and enjoy without the need for a set of evening class’s on how to start the engines!

Also while on the subject of modern jets although some may argue the 747 is not modern(!) I hear a rumour that a certain 757 is not far off from being ready for FSX and no I am not talking about the PSS one before everybody starts! I also saw a screen shot of a superb ‘modern’ FS jet airliner VC the other day – it looked really fantastic – unfortunately I cannot yet reveal what it is but I will do as soon as I am able to.
If you have not checked out the pictures of our recent release of Real Scenery White Waltham airfield then please do – it really is very high on accurate detail. We have released a fully functioning demo of it here.
Traffic X is coming along and I am pleased to say that contrary to some rumours there will be up to date airline liveries in it. Now I am not saying that every airline in it will feature the very latest liveries, impossible as some change on a monthly basis and new airlines come and old airlines go (recent spate of dead airlines noted!), but you should see a decent number of the major airlines in a recent liveries, and besides if you want to ‘go retro’ you can always use the ChronoTraffic feature to time shift.
And last and not least for sure is the announcement that we will be publishing the highly decorated C-130 Hercules from Captain Sim. We will be announcing the full specs of the Just Flight package as soon as possible but in the meantime I have posted some pics of this most famous of air lifters on its In-Development page.

I am all worn out now! Lots of stuff announced and talked about!
‘til the next time.
Keep safe.
