Aunty Mabel’s airfield

There’s a chap in the med’ who parks his Helicopter on his swimming pool.  “Why?” you ask for surely even with floats a helicopter can land on ground – and yes, it can; but not when that ‘helipad’ - is occupied by the wife’s R44! It’s a hard life but we at Just Flight have just the answer … - “Come to Denham!”

Denham is fantastic for both fixed wing and helicopter operations, with major names in both fields very present. We are currently completing an impressive FSX offering of this amazing field, and with adjacent lakes - if you really do feel that need to splashdown.

Why Denham?

  • Denham is the home of both fixed wing and helicopters with the presence of major companies and schools in both arenas.
  • It has a good concrete strip and grass for your tailskids
  • Try the nearby Lakes for a water landing – that’s right, as with our VFR Real Scenery, these lakes are fully integrated as true water!
  • Denham offers the serious flyer the additional challenge of approaching a field within the edge of the LONDON CTR
  • It’s great for Helicopter flying over London – or perhaps heading to the coast for the weekend…. Perhaps across to the continent? The airfield is also a genuine GA facility for London.

Denham Location

Why use a Just Flight’s Real Scenery Denham, over the default?
Despite the sim’s many virtues, airfields are often hard to identify from the air and even more so on the ground. Denham is better portrayed than many but lacks vital features that are part of a true approach, and on closer examination is far short of realism.

Just Flight’s VFR Real Scenery photographic terrain series continues to receive acclaim in addressing UK realism, but such technologies do dictate that ‘autogen’ landscapes must be off – noticeable when low on approach.  Real Scenery Denham brings together a localised VFR photographic base with dedicated 3D landscaping fully compatible with both VFR Real Scenery Terrain and the default wherein autogen may be left on.

NOTAM: - “Arriving at airfields in default scenery, pilots should take all care to avoid striking tumbleweed” - Where is everyone!?” (I thought I saw someone once – but I dusted my monitor and they fell off).

Real Scenery Denham is a living airfield – 3D animated people and other aircraft populate the field, and with those lakes and woods – look out for the birds flying around!

Beyond Perimeter inclusions

Once airborne we realise features far from the field’s perimeter are intrinsic to its operation, as vital reference points for joins etc.

Through consultation with the superbly welcoming staff of all operations at the airfield, Denham includes such features and raises the bar for accurate approach representation!

Joining for Denham in one of our R44’s we follow correct procedures, and following  the A413 south, must call from the VRP ( Visual Reporting Point) at the church at Chalfont St.Giles.  There it is - Make that call! Wait to see the church in the default scenery -  and you are going to France!

looks quite nice, Scott was right when he said entertaining :D

Looking forward to it ;)

Are we allowed to put in requests for airfields?

If so, I want Sywell to go with your Tiger Moth! (I’ll do a Delta Aviation repaint of you like. :D )

Impressive work.
