The 08 on the Tyne is all yours all yours.
Firstly sincere apologies for the parody of the Lindisfarne song! :- ) but with the release of our Cajon Pass route and Class 08 Shunter pack I could not help but show you some screenshots that I took while doing some testing on our installer for the pack.
For those of you outside of the UK, the river Tyne flows through the city of Newcastle in the top north-east corner of England just south of the Scottish border and has many famous landmarks like the swing bridge over the river and had a song that has the title “Fog on the Tyne” with the lyrics “The fog on the Tyne is all mine all mine” long associated with it.
The European release of Rail Simulator has the York to Newcastle route in it and the Just Trains/RSDL Cajon Pass route and Class 08 Shunter pack features a veritable pile of authentic 08 shunters in it as well as a selection of new scenarios and two of these are for the Newcastle to York route and one of them named “Shunt on Tyne” takes place in Gateshead and Newcastle. I have found the default Newcastle – York scenarios not to really show off this fantastic route as well as they could do, but the 08 scenarios really do. This route has a mass of sidings and lines to explore as well as lots of eye candy if you want to ‘fly’ away from the lines.
If I get a chance I will also take and publish some pictures of the Cajon Pass route as that is also a pretty fantastic route. For the Rail Simulator USA Release the Newcastle to York route is not included by default but I think there are plans to make it available for sale in a while so then you will be able to drive what is a fantastic route.
I hope you enjoy the pictures!
Till the next time, keep safe.
Scotty.
