An X-citing Traffic announcement

Is almost ready…

In the meantime I couldn’t resist a quick Blog posting to raise temperatures before the main event! For as long as I can remember, our “Traffic” series have been amongst the most popular, useful and well loved products in our range. Hopefully Traffic X, arguably the first A.I. traffic program developed solely for use in FSX, will prove even more popular than previous versions.

The list of new and enhanced features is certainly very extensive. I can’t give too many details yet as the finishing touches are still being made to the exact list of spec’s, keep an eye out for a torrent of Traffic X related news coming very, very soon (any time today or tomorrow in fact). By the end of the week we will have released full details on all the features of Traffic X, the release date, screenshots, news on a special upgrade offer for Traffic/Traffic 2005 users, a release date and also a statement regarding Traffic 2005.

Thanks for the heads up Richard I am certainly looking forward to this one.

Hopefully the release date is not too far away!

Cheers

Joe

Hopefully not too far away anyway. We have a date in mind but are waiting on a couple of points to be cleared up first before making it known ;-)

Should have a few more screenshots ready soon…

are the models of aircraft going to be good this time. as i used to have to download ai aardvark, or evolve ai, or fsp aircraft and replace your models in traffic 2005 ,as the models and paintwork from the above mentioned were alot better and realistic and graphic friendly
patrick

A large proportion of the models in Traffic X are being designed from the ground-up to take advantage of the new features available in FSX (advanced animations etc). The rest of the aircraft are being re-built using the FSX SDK to achieve the best possible framerates in FSX (aircraft built with the FSX SDK rather than just dropping old FS9 models in give FAR better FPS).

Is there any further news as to the release date for Traffic X?

Good to here from you again Myrm!

At the moment we don’t have an exact release date but we are hoping for a release in time for Xmas

Take care!

Hello Richard,

Although I’m a Traffic 2005 user with all of the associated add-on packages, I have never posted in this forum before.

Will Traffic X include the previously mentioned add-on packages?

From a user point of view, having a “Deluxe” version which would include all of the military and commuter add-ons previously sold separately would be wonderful.

Like many thousands of others, I look forward to upgrading to Traffic X.

Thanks,

Philip

As many, I have all versions up to 2005 updated for FSX. Wondered if you could comment on whether the new models will overcome the problem of AI aircraft showing jet black over about 4 miles?

I know this has been discussed in many forums but have seen no suggestion of a resolution. I suspect FS9 is the same but in that case the long range texture is light grey - which looks normal compared with what the eye sees real world at a range when the shape can be made out but not individual colors.

{There is an FSX.cfg tweak which gives the grey texture but introduces other disply issues}

Traffic X is due to include a couple of models from the PlusPaks but not the entire packs. We will be looking into updating the PlusPaks for use in Traffic X and updates will no doubt be made available to existing PlusPak users.

The “Deluxe” idea sounds interesting though. Perhaps it’s something that we will look into.

Thanks for your comments

Hi richard

I apologise in advance if my comments have already been discussed! I was wondering whether it might be possible in traffic X to custom create traffic at an airport of your choice with the correct local airline schedules and repaint the aircraft to suit the country/locality/airline/charter/airtaxi etc.

I believe this option will most definitly enhance the already excellent traffic series.

kind regards

anthonio
