Flying Club R44 Helicopter progress

Hi!

Our upcoming Flying Club R44 heli has gone out for its second round of beta testing today and to celebrate that fact I have gone all ‘David Bailey’ (famous UK photographer)  and taken some screen shots as shown below. It really looks good now but we still have some more secrets to reveal as it gets closer to release! Stay tuned!

P.S. the pictures that feature the scenery with the cliffs and lighthouse (landable with an update from our site) is from our VFR Real Scenery Volume 2 pack and is the Needles lighthouse at the western tip of the Isle of Wight. The Isle of Wight, which is a beautiful island just off the south coast of the UK, is also available as a separate payable download from our site - the aerial tour around the island really is spectacular!

The Flying Club R44 will be for FSX and FS2004. No release date set yet but a few weeks away I would say at present. Glad you like it all!

Thanks

Scotty

Looks really great! What’s your next project? Perhaps Schweizer 333 or Enstrom 480? :-)

Hello,
can the doors be open seperately ?
Like only the pilots door or only the 2 aft doors ?

cheers

Some replies to your questions.

Yes there is due to be a paintkit.
Yes the pilots door, the co-pilots door and the rear doors operate seperatly. The two rear doors work together.

Scotty

Perfect :-D

That’s what i want to hear…..:-)

ehm, i am from LOWK. there is one R44 with the callsign OE-XHH. can anyone paint this??

THX

OE-XHH, nice one, maybe I’ll give a try when I have got this pretty whirlybird :)

anyway, expect many dutch repaint’s of the R44

I can’t wait

Greeting’s from the Netherlands :)

hello Scotty,

it’s very good news !

Actually I’m a private pilote on R44, so would you need a beta tester of your baby, I’m avalaible.

cheers.
Chris

Hello Scotty, Any new on the release date and price.

On the hovercontrol forum a few days ago they have said that its in it’s 2 beta testing ? Is that the last one ?

What do you think your next hecopter development will be ? - R22, looks like and easy win for you

Have you seen this site http://www.swedbird.com/helo/index.htm

Very best regards, Tony

How close to release date are you? P.S. Great job on the 300CBI.

How much longer till the release, i can’t wait any longer!!

Guys, many thanks for all your recent replies and interest.

We are still working on a feature for the R44 which we hope will please you, but I cannot reveal what it is yet! (of course! :-). It is also in its second beta for the completed parts of the software, (the vast, vast majority).

Price and release date are still to be confirmed but as soon as we are in a position to announce them then we will for sure.

I will probably post more pics here before release though and hopefully a video or two showing some more of its features. Stay tuned!

Many thanks.

Scotty

“We are still working on a feature for the R44 which we hope will please you, but I cannot reveal what it is yet!”

??

So secret in fact that even its creators have not been told!

:-0 Even I know what it is!

The secret clicky thingy navigational device above the dashboard…

A free copy for guessing correctly?

My vote is on Furry dice hanging from the compass

great! i’m really lokking forward to the new r44 :) how accurate are the sounds inside and outside?

You should switch those switches! LOL Bat, Alternator, Beacon and Nav Lights should be metallic buttons IMHO.

And what about preformance? Is it a FPS eater? Sometimes is more important performance than secret thinks! :) I bought you S300… Its great, flies great… But eat FPS a lot. :S Sometimes getting it impossible to fly. Just optimize this on R44 and it will be a success. You should consider multiple VC cockpits too. For example the option to get off the GPS.

Best regards to all.

Looks Beautiful Guys! Keep up the Great Work :D

There’s only 1 other in exsistence that i know of, and that’s at swedbird

Looking forward to the release!

hello,

is it normal to have a low fuel with only a tank empty… :-)))

so then, when ?

hello,

why all my posts are removed… ?

my concerns are not politically corrects ?

thanks to let me know.

I precise that my posts are not support related (regarding the warning below).

Chris,

The fuel light is on because it was not fixed at the time of the picture - its beta software. Also I have not deleted any of your posts, so I have no idea what is happening there.

Scotty

hi Scotty,

thanks for the answer…

my previous questions have been deleted :
- is it planned to have the possibility to remove/move some of the gauges ? (gps for instance)
- will it be possible to add some instruments like xpreality ?
- will it be possible to deal with autorotation (free wheel management)
- are all the instruments functionnal ? (rotor break, battery charge, etc)
- all warning lights were amber color on the pictures but OIL and ENGINE FIRE are red : did you modify it ?

thanks for all.
rgds.Chris

Hi Chris,

No idea what happened to your previous questions. I did not delete them, but others have access to this blog so maybe they got removed by mistake, anyway lots of questions from you and I will basically sum them up in this reply that we are working hard to make the software as close as we can to the real thing but it is not the real thing and there will be limitations, not particularly caused by us but by the limitations of the host sims. All we can do is our best, but I am sure that some of the items that you mention will be OK, but that others esp the Autorotation will be limited by the host sim in what we can do. Hope that helps.

Scotty

hi Scotty, any idea how long the R44 will be, before we can dowload it?
many thanks

Mhhh…

My post was deleted, but why?
I just asked when the R44 will be released…

Ranny

Ranny, your post was never deleted. It was just never been approved to be posted. All postings here have to be viewed an approved for posting before they are publicly seen. Your question - we are still working on it and I guess it will be a few weeks more yet.

Scotty.

Ok Scotty, my fault!

Thanks for the answer.

Ranny

Will the flight dynamics be as real like the Dodosim 206 ?

D-mac,

FS ues two models for helis, one for the piston engine (R22/44) and another for the turbine engine (Jet Ranger). The two cannot be mixed.

The Turbine engine model is much more tweakable and hence why DoDosim have been able to make their Jet Ranger so well revered, unfortunately the piston engine model is not so nearly tweakable and so it is tweaked as much as possible but within the piston engine model limitations.

Maybe the FSX Acceleration pack will open up more opportunities in this area?

Thanks

Scotty

When is the release now? We have october ;-)

And then it will be November and then December :-) The R44 is still being worked on along with all the other Just Flight products - its day will come and hopefully it will all have been worth the wait.

Scotty

Hello,

but I read, that you say in April that you will realease your R44 very soon. don’t say something like this if you know that you cannot hold the date.

Marcel

Marcel,

Welcome to the world of software development. Comments like yours just make us very weary of quoting any dates because all we get are comments like yours when a date is not met. Luckily the majority of people are more understanding on the realities of this world.

Do you really think that we quoted April (and I am not sure that we did) when (and if we did) in the full knowledge that we would not be able to release on that date? Get real please.

I will say again, when it is ready it is ready - we will not release it until it is and it is being worked on as well as all the other products. I can assure you that we are not holding it back just to annoy you - we have better things to do.

Scotty

Sry, i said very soon. sry for that. But soon isn’t for me 5 month. ok, maybe for you, but 5 month is a “long-soon” ;)

Marcel,

Right so you are quoting a Rotorwash magazine news item, not actually our direct words then? And before you ask I have no idea if the word ’soon’ was used in any correspondence to Rotorwash regarding the Rotorwash news item and I will not be conducting a witch hunt to find out.

I refer you back to my previous reply to you.

Scotty

hiya scotty, are the sounds for the r44 any good, i mean are they recorded frm the real thing? many thanks,
whitus

whitus, The sounds were recorded from the real helicopter, so should be reasonable! :-)

Scotty

fantastic thanks a lot, i look forward to purhasing this chopper :)

if you guys are done arguing what “soon” means,i would like to take some of my time to honor the team that is making this wonder.nice work so far…cant wait until its release.i hope it will be released soon…and i have one question.when it is released…will it come with a paintkit??i seriously do hope so since i have many ideas for repaints for the R44…again…very nice work and to all of you,be patience

any update on the release? many thanks adam
